Zenith inside.

What could be more fitting for the first real racing watch – the Race Pilot, than a Zenith movement? Founded in 1865 by Georgese Favre-Jacot, the company won the race to develop the world’s first real automatic chronograph, a movement that is still considered state-of-the-art today. Ever since its establishment, Zenith has continued to produce movements considered to be among the best there is.

The mechanical movement of the Halda Race Pilot is the Caliber 685. It is a 38-jewel automatic movement that beats 28,800 times per hour and has a 50-hour Power Reserve, visible through the crystal case-back. Why not a chronograph, you ask. The Race Module already has an invincible one and the fuel gauge of the mechanical module, or the Power Reserve in this matter, is far more useful when alternating between modules.

The Mechanical Module is available with three different dials: Gun Metal, Black Luminova and Silver Geneva. Each dial is engine turned and made out of 29 individually manufactured pieces and decorated with Côtes de Genève and Clous de Paris.

The automatic movement has a 50-hour Power Reserve indicator and not unlike the fuel gauge of a car, this shows you how many hours are left of power until it is empty.
